| Listed below you'll find
the various types of earring clasps shown in the Poshjewels
catalogue. |
 |
| Classic spring clip-on
(plate) |
 |
An earring
clasp with a post, or a snap-on clip that holds the earring onto
the lobe even if there is no post, for women without pierced
ears. This is a very light clasp and it is ideal for any type of
earring, guaranteeing security and freedom at the same time. |
 |
| French hook |
 |
The spring
French hook is a loop that brings the wire behind the earlobe,
letting the earring dangle freely. It was the type used most
often for earrings in the past and has come back into fashion
today to give modern classic jewellery an old-fashioned look. |
 |
| Spring clip |
 |
This is a
variation of the French hook, with the post held in place by the
rear clip through a small hole. Earrings with a spring clip are
set closer to the lobe than those with the French hook and this
type of clasp is often used in contouring models, like the one
shown in the photograph. |
 |
| Modern spring clips (wire) |
 |
This clasp is
used for pierced earrings. It is a stylized variation of the
classic clips. Like the classic clip, however, the earring can
be fastened to the lobe even if the post is eliminated. This
type of clasp is used mainly for earrings with a modern look
that cover the earlobe softly and hide the rear clip, which is
perfectly adherent and invisible. |
 |
| Back or butterfly |
 |
Light, simple
to use and suitable for all types and earring models, the
butterfly has always been very popular and preferred, not only
because it is easy to wear but also because it is totally
invisible, even on very small styles. |
 |
| Clip with rubber |
 |
The clip with
rubber fastening is conceived for those who have no pierced
ears. It is composed by a pierced back clip with a small round
rubber in the centre which prevents the postless earring to
slide. The rubber makes the clip safe and perfectly sticking to
the earlobe, even if it can be removed when necessary. |
